Student reflection – Primary school sustainability project

Recently, a group of the Whitefriars boys from Year 9 accompanied by Mr Sherlock and Miss Ciavarella to Currawong Bush Park to help primary school students learn about sustainability for the ‘Lead to Sustain’ workshop. The Year 9 boys assisted primary school students in making newspaper pot plants for the primary school students to place sunflower seeds in. The younger students also received a very detailed explanation by Mr Sherlock and Miss Ciavarella about how the sunflowers would grow and how the students, by recycling objects that would normally be thrown in the trash, could improve the ecosystems around our local council. The day was a great success, a big thanks also to Ms Vandervelde for all of her help in getting everything organised.
