Reconciliation at Whitefriars

Whitefriars College is committed to a future built on respect, truth-telling and genuine relationships with First and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Guided by our Carmelite values, we honour the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung People, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, and extend our respect to all First Peoples and Torres Strait Islander members of our community.

Our Commitment

Our Reconciliation Action Plan sets out how we will:

  • Build authentic relationships with Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elders and local community

  • Embed First Peoples and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives in learning

  • Create a culturally safe and welcoming College environment

  • Celebrate days of national significance and engage in truth-telling

  • Support opportunities for First Peoples and Torres Strait Islander students, families and staff

Through these commitments, we aim to form young men who value justice, compassion and the shared story of our nation.
