Enrolment Procedures

Whitefriars College is a Catholic secondary school for boys in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, dedicated to supporting families who seek a Catholic education in the Carmelite tradition.

The best way to experience our community is by joining an Open Morning Tour or attending our Open Day.

Open Morning Tours for Year 7, 2028 will commence with our Open Day on Sunday 1 March, 2026. Bookings for Open Day and our school in action tours will open in Term 4, 2025.

Year 7, 2026

The official Catholic Education Melbourne enrolment period for Year 7, 2026 has closed. However, you may still submit an application and our Director – Community Relations and Admissions will contact you regarding availability.

Year 7, 2027

The official Catholic Education Melbourne enrolment period for Year 7, 2026 has closed. Families are still welcome to submit an application and our Director – Community Relations and Admissions will be in touch regarding availability.

Upcoming dates are:

  • Saturday, 6 September 2025 – Year 7, 2027 enrolment interviews.
  • Friday, 17 October 2025 – Offers of enrolment are sent to successful applicants. Schools are not permitted to notify families before this date, as per Catholic Education Melbourne guidelines.
  • Friday, 7 November 2025 – Final date for parents to accept enrolment offers.

 

Enrolment Priority Criteria

In line with Catholic Education Melbourne policy, Whitefriars College prioritises enrolment for Catholic students and considers previous school history along with parental support for the College’s ethos, policies, and procedures. The College seeks to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring additional support and those who are gifted.

Priority is given in the following order:

  1. Brothers of current or former Whitefriars students.

  2. Sons of Whitefriars alumni.

  3. Catholic boys from a College Priority Parish who attend a Catholic primary school (see list of parishes and schools below).

  4. Catholic boys residing in a College Priority Parish who attend a non-Catholic primary school.

  5. Catholic boys from outside the College Priority Parish (subject to availability).

  6. Non-Catholic boys attending a Catholic primary school (subject to availability).

  7. Non-Catholic boys from other schools (subject to availability).

We also receive applications from over 50 other Catholic and non-Catholic primary schools.

Application Requirements

Parents/guardians must provide:

  • A completed Application for Enrolment signed by both parents/guardians (unless otherwise specified in a court order).

  • Supporting documents as requested.

  • Payment of a non-refundable application fee.

Please note: submitting an application does not guarantee enrolment.

Enrolments for Years 8–12

Vacancies may be available in Years 8–12. Enrolment for these year levels is subject to interview. Please contact the Enrolment Office to discuss availability.
