War Touches Us All

Whitefriars has been invited by Whitehorse Manningham Libraries to participate in an exciting Young Writers Project and we’d love our students to be a part of this exciting initiative.

The project is called ‘War Touches Us All’. Students are invited to write a piece about a local person whose life was touched by World War 1. Some great prizes are on offer and there are lots of great angles and stories students could pursue.

To support students, Whitefriars will host a visit from celebrated author, Robert Hillman, Monday 24 August. This will be a talk and workshop.

Author talks from Morris Gleitzman, Alice Pung, Jack Heath and John Marsden will also occur at various libraries in the City of Whitehorse and Manningham. A flyer with times and dates is available from the College Library.
