Success on Stage – VCE Theatre Studies ‘The Woman in Black’

Last week, our VCE Theatre Studies students presented their 2022 production of The Woman in Black. A gothic ghost story, our audience were transported to the eerie setting of Eel Marsh House in England where Arthur Kipps encountered the mysterious Woman in Black, and the secrets that she holds.

Brilliantly guided by Nathalie Fox our theatre studies teacher, the production was entirely directed, designed, constructed and operated by the Year 11 and 12 Theatre Studies class: James Borrack, Chris Butterworth, Luca Fleming, Sam Fonhof, Ethan Oppy, Daniel Visentin, Adrian Zuccala, Riley Costello, Bill Donaldson, AJ Eastham, Aidan Finlay, Oscar Kunz, Lachlan Miller, Jacob Redmile, Jack Sugden, Oscar Trajcevski and Ben Weng.

The students successfully captured the thrills, chills and a ghostly horror of the script, providing a perfect evening of entertainment to a large audience of parents, staff and friends. A special thankyou to Claire Benne as the titular Woman in Black, and Sandra Kennedy for her assistance in promotion and ticketing.

With such busy times in Performing Arts, a special thankyou to our dedicated staff, without whom these events would not happen. Thankyou for all you do!

Finally, be on the lookout in the next few weeks for ticket bookings to our 2022 Junior Production ‘Murder in the Knife Room’, featuring our drama students in Years 7 – 9. Murder, knives, and comedy…what could possibly go wrong!
