On Wednesday 17 March, students participating in STEW Club – Fire Writing where secret messages and images were created using invisible ink (potassium nitrate) and then revealed by touching a flame to the edge of the text. The messages burnt away leaving the paper untouched except for the fire writing. The ink used was an oxidising agent which, when heated provides more oxygen to keep the reaction going.
