In 1270, a Carmelite monk called Nicolas of Cusa, wrote a document titled The Fiery Arrow. He describes the joys of God’s natural creation and its connection to the Mt Carmel environment. Fast forward nearly 750 later and the Carmelite eco-consciousness continues in the Year 7 RE Creation Unit. The Sustainability and Environment Team ran a session with all the Year 7 students about caring for creation though a seed planting activity. The boys made their own pot plant out of recycled newspaper and then planted a lettuce seed. The groups will care for their seedling for the term in class and then plant their seedling at home to enjoy with their families. Caring for creation in action.
