This year, students in Yrs. 7-10 had the opportunity to participate in the annual ICAS Science Competition for 2020 online. The participation in the competition was high despite the changed circumstances due to COVID-19. Organized and coordinated by Dr Stephen Goodall (Science Enrichment), the ICAS Science competition is skill-based and includes subject contexts of Earth and Beyond, Energy and Change, Life and Living, Natural and Processed Materials and assesses skills in interpreting data, applying data and higher order skills.
I am pleased to announce that the results for this competition were excellent with a number of students receiving a distinction award. A summary of results are presented below. Well done boys!

ICAS Digital Technologies Competition
In Term 3, students in Yrs. 7-10 had the opportunity to participate in the annual ICAS (International Competitions and Assessment for Schools) Digital Technologies Competition for 2020 albeit in slightly different circumstances. Coordinated by Dr Stephen Goodall (Science Enrichment), the ICAS Digital Technologies competition assesses skills and knowledge in the areas of databases, graphics, multimedia, operating systems & computer hardware and programming. Results are now available and I am pleased to announce some fantastic performances. Of particular note was the outstanding performance of Dathen Seneviratne of Year 8. His score of 36/45 not only placed him in the top 1% of all participants; this is a wonderful achievement for Dathen and due recognition for his on-going endeavor in the field of Digital Technologies at the College. Â A summary of the results are provided below.
