The International Science School (ISS) is held annually every year. This is a very selective program that caters for students from all over Australia in Years 11 and 12. It is a week-long gifted and talented program designed for students who not only enjoy science but whom are also extremely talented in their field.
The ISS provides access to a great line of guest speakers, all leading scientists in their fields, including cosmologist Prof. Geraint Lewis, computational neuroscientist Prof. Adrienne Fairhall and solar energy pioneer Prof. Anita Ho-Baillie.
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Roger Luo (Year 12) has been invited to participate in this year’s international program. Only the highest quality of applications get through and therefore is of great credit that Roger has been chosen to attend. It should be mentioned that Ms Carboon, Dr Goodall and Mr Stewart have also been supporting and mentoring Roger throughout the application process.
I wish Roger all the very best in this exclusive international program and is due credit for the efforts he has put into his sciences throughout his years at Whitefriars College. The international science school runs from Monday 5 to Friday 9 July 2021.
