Reading Millions 2023

The annual and very popular Read a Million Challenge was rebooted with a few enhancements as Houses were competing for the most time read during six months of 2023.  Reading time was tracked using the Beanstack software, where motivating digital badges were earned along the journey. There was also an opportunity to earn bonus time by entering fun bonus badge fortnightly competitions.

Congratulations to all participants who collectively read a mega 15 million seconds plus!

A special mention to our readers who were winners and placegetters:

  • Overall House award trophy – Students – Stein
  • Overall House award trophy – Combined Staff and Students – Avila
  • Overall Student winner – Matthew Wallace, Year 12
  • Year 7 English Class with the most time read: Mr Jackson’s 7F class
  • Year 12: Carter Prokop
  • Year 11: Jonathan Clark
  • Year 10: Keenan Santiago
  • Year 9: William Torner
  • Year 8: Hasan Al-Wahab
  • Year 7 & M7: Toby Keodouangphachanh

Kudos to the Year 7 students who clocked up the most time read in their Year 7 House group:

Avila: Giacomo Chincarini
Brandsma: Aiden Pattie
Corsini: Nihit Pandey
Stein: Ethan Creagh
Lisieux: Aidan Dow-Lavery
Mantua: Toby Keodouangphachanh
Soreth: Ben Miller
Trinity: William Hook

Well done to the Houses which achieved over 1 million seconds, to the top three readers in each House and to the those who reached and then surpassed various digital badge thresholds for reading time.
