R U OK Day is a day of action to remind ourselves to ask our loved ones, ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation whenever you spot the signs that someone you care about might be struggling with life.
It can be difficult to start a conversation with someone you are worried about, but by taking the time for an R U OK? conversation and genuinely listening with an open mind, we can all help the people in our world feel supported and connected.
Yesterday on the official R U OK Day, our College Leadership Team visited classrooms and offices to ask R U OK?
Today, approximately 60 Year 12 students participated in Whitefriars’ first “R U OK Day Long Lunch”, the concept for which was developed by Liam Rooney, Jack Hoole and Joel Savy. “It’s an opportunity for the boys to engage in conversation with others and learn skills around communication, revolving around the slogan “R U OK?”, in support of suicide prevention.”
Well done to all students and staff involved in the initiative and let’s be sure to continue to check in with each other.
