Dear Parents/Guardians, Families, Students and Staff
Happy Mother’s Day – for Sunday 13th May
Family Week 2018
For over thirty-two years, CatholicCare has invited schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to acknowledge and celebrate Family Week.
Family Week encourages students and parents to reflect on their own families and the vital role family plays in enriching and supporting their personal growth and goals. It allows students to recognise and celebrate the importance of family as a key component of a healthy society. It is a time to appreciate and cherish the meaning of family and to make the most of family life.
This year, the theme for Family Week is ‘Building Connections; Growing Together’. This year’s resources focus on the dynamic concept of Family Wellbeing – how it can be celebrated and strengthened. (Source: https://www.ccam.org.au/page/103/familyweek)
By acknowledging and highlighting Family Week, we hope that our boys will better understand that each of us plays a role in strengthening families and communities.
With one voice we pray to the Lord:
For the leaders of our church family and the leaders of our country: grant them wisdom and courage as they show us how to be giving and compassionate.
For those who work with families, particularly the staff of CatholicCare: may they be guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit in their work. May their efforts bring peace and happiness to the families who seek their assistance.
For our local and global community: we pray for generosity, compassion, peace and justice.
For all children and young people: we pray they be blessed with a generosity in spirit and action
For all those who are in need, sick or alone: may our College community reach out to them
For all who have died recently, especially the family of Amanda Blanchard-Sell, mother of Tom (Year 10) and Nicholas (Year 8) Fazackerley. May she rest in eternal peace.
