Last week Oscar Hargreaves competed for Victoria in the U/18 National Baseball Competition. The 17 player team was selected after a six week trial program that involved 80 players from across the state. The team played a total of eight games across five days and finished in 1st position. After winning the semi-final they played off for the gold medal against NSW. In what was a close game, NSW managed to hit a home run that put the game into an extra inning where they were able to capitalise with the win. Oscar played 1st base for the tournament and finished with a batting average of .310 (equating to 3 hits every 10 times I went to bat). Well done Oscar and congratulations on your silver medal!
