Whitefriars College has a reputation in the Sustainability Learning community for integrating themes such as biodiversity, energy, water and waste into curriculum across most learning areas. This takes many creative, passionate and professional staff to ensure Whitefriars students are offered opportunities for rich learning of sustainability themes via different learning opportunities. The Sustainability and Environment Team were invited to present to EASL (Eastern Alliance for Sustainability Learning) 2022 Learning for Sustainability Conference on Friday 25 March. The presentation showcased a variety of ways our boys learn about sustainability in Science and Technology, English, Maths, Commerce, Visual Arts, LOTE and Religion learning areas. Thank you to Ms Mel Alexander for creating a video featuring Joshua Adams, Luke Verhoeven, Sione Gatt, Damon Henry, Connor Donoghue, Ms Wight, Mr O’Day and Ms Livingstone who spoke about their experience of Sustainability curriculum at the College. The video can be viewed here.
