Matthew Zammit (Class of 1995) had a horrific accident on his motorbike three years ago when a car did an illegal right-hand turn in front of him. He spent the next six months in the Alfred hospital, the first few weeks in a critical condition with no guarantee of surviving. He has had numerous operations and years of rehabilitation.
Due to his indomitable spirit he has been training for a half marathon and would like others to know what a truly wonderful hospital the Alfred is. He is running in the hope of raising more funds and an awareness of this great hospital, the staff and the thousands of people they save every year. If you have a moment, read his short story and if you can, help him give a little back to the community.
