Unit 2 Physical Education hit the ice!

As part of the Unit 2 study of PE, our students took to the ice to experience ice skating and the sport of curling. In Unit 2, students examine the factors that influence participating in physical activity over a lifetime. This activity, which many students have not had experience in, provides students the opportunity to identify factors that affect participation in these specialised activities – particularly the individual enablers and barriers that affected them in each experience. Students also apply health promotion models studied during the course to see how the YPAP model for participation and the SEM model impact participation in both these sports.

The students persevered to learn new skills, try new activities and have a great understanding of the factors that impact activity choice over a lifetime.
