Fantastic Achievement Daniel Joshua (Year 9 Mantua)

Daniel Joshua, a Year 9 student, has been selected to play for Victoria in the National Indoor Cricket Championships, Under 16 age group.  The championships, hosted by Cricket Australia, will be held in Ipswich, Queensland, between 26 June and 2 July this year.  He plays in the Indoor Cricket Super-League for the Croydon Club, and is a leg spin bowler, and top order batsman.

Daniel’s passion for cricket is not just the indoor version. Daniel has been playing cricket outdoors since the age of 7 and spends all of his spare time during the summer months, playing the game.  He plays both Senior and Junior cricket, in four separate teams for the Donvale Cricket Club, in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Competition.  Daniel won the best and fairest award for his club side this year, and in January this year, Daniel captained his Under 14 representative side, the Box Hill Reporter District, in the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union Inter-League carnival, where he also topped the batting aggregate and the batting average for his team throughout the carnival.

This is a wonderful achievement and the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. We wish Daniel every success in the upcoming National Championships.
