Exam Success

Students in Years 9, 10 and 11 will soon undertake their Semester One examinations. End-of-semester examinations provide students with an important opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of key knowledge and skills in each of their subjects. While there is much discussion about alternative metrics for measuring success in education, examinations continue to be central to the evaluation of student performance in our education system.

Year 9 exams: Tuesday 7 June

Year 10 exams: Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 June

Year 11 exams: Thursday 9 June – Thursday 16 June

A student-free day is scheduled for Friday 17 June to support teaching staff in marking and providing feedback on Semester One assessment tasks.

At Whitefriars College, we intentionally increase the rigour and number of our internal examinations as students move through their secondary school journey. We hope to demystify the exam process by providing students with clear information about the examination structure and about content that will be assessed in the paper.

To support students in their exam preparation, I encourage them to consider how they are approach their revision of key terminology in each of their subjects.

I wish all of our students well as they head into the examination period.
