Environmental and Social Justice Community Partnership

The CLC and WFC Environment and Social Justice Partnership met via zoom last Thursday 18 March. The 40 students that gathered introduced themselves and were asked what they were passionate about and what environmental or social justice concerns were. These included: gender pay gap, tree planting, nesting boxes, ways to reduce their carbon footprint, beekeeping, preserving biodiversity, conservation of natural vegetation, composting, bushland foraging, looking at economies and how it relates to our carbon footprint, protecting women’s rights, minimising racial discrimination and action for climate crisis awareness.

Next term the students will get a chance to meet one another and begin working on community projects that support their concerns and passions.
