Corsini House unpack 6,000 items for Doncare

Students in Corsini House have been working with Doncare as our House Charity Partner for a number of years and we are always looking for different ways to support them. One way is to offer financial support through our Feast Day donations, but just as importantly we look to offer ‘hands on’ practical support in the form of  ’Faith In Action’.

Two weeks ago I was contacted by the CEO of Doncare, Doreen Stoves, who was in desperate need of some help. The St Hilary’s Hope community and the partnering churches in Boroondara had been collecting food donations and were able to deliver them to Doncare in MC Square on Monday 20 May. As there were over 6,000 items of food that were being delivered in a truck, the staff at Doncare were in need of some helpful young men from our College to unload food. Despite the rain and cold, nine Year 7 Corsini students, supported by our College staff, helped unload the truck and ensure the donations were stored for future use.

Well done to all involved.
