On Wednesday the Chess team competed in the ACC Junior and Intermediate Chess tournament at Parade College. Both teams, under the leadership of Rhonda Powling (Chess Coach) and David Dunlop (Chess Captain), performed exceptionally well against very tough opposition. Of note was the Junior Chess team which finish 2nd in division 1. The Intermediate Chess Team also performed strongly finishing 3rd in Division 1; an outstanding result for both teams. Given their strong performance, both teams now qualify for the State Finals in a week’s time.
Our top performing players in the tournament for the juniors were Luka Ivanusic, Joseph Prossomariti and Gus Mileto. For the intermediates, our best performing players was Eric Rechichi followed by Dom Batten.
