On Friday morning Joshu Faye-Chauhan represented Whitefriars in the State Final of the Plain English Speaking Award. Although Joshu prepared thoroughly and performed very well, the first prize and runner-up prize went to other contestants. The speeches were of an extremely high quality, with several experienced attendees telling me it was the best collection of speeches they had seen in years. The boys who attended with Joshu were respectful towards all speakers and behaved in an exemplary fashion.
Congratulations to Joshu who represented Whitefriars so well, as an articulate and intelligent ‘gentle man’, in such a high level of competition.
